Our mission.

Building a more memorable childhood through books.

Our broad collection of books will bring the joy of reading to readers of all ages.  Our mission is to connect bilingual children living in Istanbul with a diverse collection of literature, bringing them hard-to-find resources and knowledge.

The bricks-and-mortar library experience teaches children responsibility, and gives them an inspirational alternative to screen-time, which has unfortunately become the norm in our post-COVID-19 world.   Our cozy space already boasts over 4,500 titles, and is growing day-by-day.

Our story.

Acquisitions started in 1985...

Our founder has been collecting children's literature since the mid-1980s, never dreaming that one day, these beloved books would become the starting point for The Little Library That Could.

...for a library that
opened in 2021

Each title in our collection has been selected with special care, and with the intention to provide children with the joy that comes with discovering a kindred spirit between the pages of a book. We can't wait to begin sharing these titles with you and your children!
